This elegant pair of Model 941 table lamps was produced by Søholm on the Danish island of Bornholm during the 1960s. Executed in glazed stoneware, the lamps exemplify the refined Scandinavian ceramic tradition for which Søholm became internationally recognised. Their sculptural silhouette combines a square, softly rounded base with a slender tapering neck, resulting in a balanced form that is equally decorative and functional.

The lamps feature a beautifully layered glaze composition. A deep matte grey base transitions into rich cobalt blue with subtle tonal variation, while the neck is finished in a warm oxblood glaze enriched with delicate violet and green nuances. A fine amber-coloured border separates the contrasting glazes, accentuating the elegant proportions of the design. The interaction between the crystalline glaze effects and the clean architectural form gives each lamp a distinctive character while maintaining the understated aesthetic associated with Danish modern design.

Marked to the underside with the Søholm stamp and model number 941, the lamps are authentic examples of the manufacturer’s celebrated mid-century ceramic production. Their restrained geometry allows the expressive glazing to take centre stage, making them equally suitable for modern, Scandinavian and eclectic interiors.

The pair has been newly rewired and is ready for use. They are shown with custom-made cylindrical lampshades in natural woven fabric, which complement the warm tones of the ceramic while diffusing a soft ambient light. Whether placed on bedside tables, a sideboard or a console, these lamps provide both atmospheric illumination and a strong decorative presence.

A fine and increasingly sought-after pair of Danish ceramic table lamps that reflects the exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design language of Søholm during the golden age of Scandinavian ceramics.
