Designed by French designer Pierre Paulin in 1967, the F577 “Tongue” chair is one of his most recognisable designs. Its name refers to the chair’s distinctive, elongated form, which appears to emerge organically from its sculpted base. Paulin’s innovative use of molded foam allowed him to create soft, flowing contours that contrast beautifully with the chair’s compact proportions.

The low, relaxed seating position makes the “Tongue” both comfortable and inviting, while its playful silhouette gives it a strong presence in an interior. Combining functionality, comfort and expressive organic design, the F577 perfectly reflects Paulin’s approach to furniture and his influential contribution to 20th-century French design.

This timeless design classic works equally well as a statement piece in a contemporary interior or as part of a more eclectic collection.
