Pierre Paulin

Pierre Paulin (1927–2009) was one of the most influential French furniture designers of the 20th century, celebrated for his innovative approach to form, comfort, and modern living. After studying at the École Camondo in Paris, Paulin developed a distinctive style defined by organic shapes, low seating, and stretch-fabric upholstery that challenged traditional furniture design. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, he created iconic pieces for Artifort, including the Mushroom, Ribbon, and Groovy chairs, which became symbols of Space Age design. His work combined sculptural aesthetics with ergonomic function, leaving a lasting impact on contemporary interior design.
