Ulferts

Founded in Tibro, Sweden, in the 1940s, Ulferts grew into one of Northern Europe’s largest furniture manufacturers during the post-war period. At its peak, the company employed around 1,200 people, combining large-scale production with the high standards of craftsmanship for which Swedish furniture became internationally renowned.

During the 1950s and 1960s, Ulferts collaborated with a number of notable designers, including Lennart Bender, Tage Olofsson, and Arne Norell. The company’s collections reflected the values of Swedish modernism: functional design, honest materials, and carefully considered proportions.

Today, vintage pieces produced by Ulferts are valued for their quality of construction and timeless design. Their scale of production explains why Ulferts furniture is still regularly encountered on the market, while the most successful designer collaborations remain highly sought after by collectors of Scandinavian modern furniture.
