Werner Schou (1926–1995) was a Danish designer best known for his distinctive mid-century lighting designs. Active mainly during the 1960s and 1970s, Schou created lamps that combined Scandinavian simplicity with bold geometric forms and warm atmospheric lighting.
He worked extensively with materials such as aluminum, copper, and brass, often designing layered or sculptural pendants that produced soft, diffused light. Among his best-known works are the Moon and Halon lamp series, which became popular examples of Danish modern lighting design.
Schou’s work reflects the balance of functionality and elegance that defines Scandinavian modernism, and his lamps remain highly valued today by collectors of vintage Danish design.
