This Danish stoneware table lamp from the 1960s combines a deeply textured blue and white glazed base with a slender brass fitting and a new white fabric shade.
The rounded ceramic body has a slightly elongated profile, tapering gently towards the top and bottom. Circular impressions and recessed details extend across its surface, creating a continuous relief pattern. Their irregular arrangement gives the base a tactile character, with the decoration following the curves of the form.
The blue and white glaze brings definition to this textured surface. Deeper blue tones gather within the recesses, while lighter areas emphasise the raised edges. Glossy passages catch the light across the relief, drawing attention to the relationship between the glaze and the underlying ceramic decoration. Colour and texture work together here, giving the base its distinctive appearance without relying on an applied pictorial motif.
Above the stoneware base, the narrow brass fitting introduces a contrasting material and a lighter visual element. The newly fitted white fabric shade provides a quiet counterpart to the detailed ceramic surface. Its restrained appearance keeps attention on the base while completing the lamp’s balanced composition.
With its rounded form and expressive glaze, this stoneware table lamp offers both a functional light source and a sculptural accent. The combination of blue, white and brass lends itself to interiors featuring timber furniture, natural textiles and other ceramics.
The perfect fit to complete your interior.
