The Saarinen Model 72 Dining Chair by Knoll International is a true design icon. Introduced in 1950 by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, it reflects his signature vision of sculptural simplicity and refined modernism.

Defined by its elegant pedestal base and gently curved shell, the chair offers both visual lightness and ergonomic comfort. This particular set has been reupholstered in matching colors Premium Dedar Alpaca Alto fabric, a rich velvet, that adds depth, tactility, and a distinctive bespoke character.

Timeless yet expressive, the Model 72 remains a celebrated symbol of mid-century design, seamlessly blending innovation, craftsmanship, and elevated materiality.

This specific set was made in the 1960s under license of Knoll by De Coene in Belgium, see label. Unfortunately only two of the four chairs have the metal label. The others seems to have been lost in time.
