The Saarinen Model 72 Dining Chair by Knoll International is a true design icon. Introduced in 1950 by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, it reflects his signature vision of sculptural simplicity and refined modernism.

Defined by its elegant pedestal base and gently curved shell, the chair offers both visual lightness and ergonomic comfort. This particular item has been reupholstered in premium Dedar “Hibou” fabric — a richly textured, bouclé that adds depth, tactility, and a distinctive bespoke character.

Timeless yet expressive, the Model 72 remains a celebrated symbol of mid-century design — seamlessly blending innovation, craftsmanship, and elevated materiality.

This specific chair was made under license by De Coene for Knoll in Kortrijk, Belgium in the 1960s.
