Trabucchi, Vecchi & Volpi

The Italian design trio Claudio Trabucchi, Gianni Vecchi, and Gianni Volpi emerged in the early 1970s as part of a new wave of creative experimentation in lighting and furniture design. Collaborating with Stilnovo, one of Italy’s most innovative lighting manufacturers, they explored bold geometric forms, industrial materials, and a distinctly architectural approach to illumination.

Their most recognized creation, the Blitz Lamp (1972), reflects their shared fascination with proportion, precision, and the interplay between structure and light. The trio’s work captures the optimistic energy of 1970s Italian design, where functionality met artistic expression in a perfectly balanced composition.
