Guzzini Ufficio Progetti

Guzzini Ufficio Progetti is the internal design and development studio of the Italian company Fratelli Guzzini, established in the post-war period and active from the 1950s onward. Rather than focusing on individual authorship, Ufficio Progetti functioned as a collaborative team of designers, engineers, and technicians working closely with production. This collective approach became a defining characteristic of the company and aligned with the broader culture of Italian industrial design, where innovation often emerged from dialogue between design and manufacturing.

The studio played a pioneering role in the use of plastic and synthetic materials for household products, helping to transform plastics from a purely technical material into one associated with elegance, color, and everyday comfort. Guzzini Ufficio Progetti designed a wide range of domestic objects, including tableware, bowls, trays, storage containers, pitchers, and lighting. Notable and widely recognized designs include the “Feeling” tableware series, the stackable kitchen containers, decorative plastic lamps, and a variety of serving accessories characterized by soft forms, transparency, and vivid colors.

Guzzini’s in-house design work reflects a strong commitment to functionality, affordability, and modern living, making well-designed objects accessible to a broad public.
