Twisted Crystal-tafellamp

This elegant crystal table lamp was produced by the renowned French crystal manufacturer Baccarat circa 1960. Showcasing the exceptional craftsmanship for which the maison has been celebrated since the eighteenth century, the lamp combines sculptural form with the remarkable optical clarity of hand-finished crystal.

The solid crystal base is characterized by a graceful twisted design that creates a dynamic play of light and reflection from every angle. Deeply moulded vertical ribs spiral upwards into a softly undulating rim, producing an almost fluid appearance despite the substantial weight of the crystal. Whether illuminated or viewed in daylight, the faceted form captures and refracts light beautifully, highlighting the exceptional quality of the material.

The lamp retains its engraved Baccarat signature, confirming its authenticity. This discreet engraving is a hallmark of the manufacturer’s commitment to craftsmanship and allows the piece to be confidently attributed to one of France’s most prestigious crystal houses. It still has its original brass fixture.

Elegant in its simplicity, this lamp lends itself to a wide variety of interiors, from classic and Art Deco-inspired settings to contemporary spaces where sculptural lighting is appreciated. Paired with a refined linen shade (also French made), the crystal base provides a sophisticated balance of brilliance and understated luxury.

An authentic mid-century Baccarat lamp such as this represents both a functional lighting object and a beautifully executed work of French crystal craftsmanship.
