Grote tafellamp van grenenhout

A beautifully proportioned table lamp designed by Uno & Östen Kristiansson for Luxus in Sweden during the 1970s. Crafted from solid pine, the lamp combines a sculptural silhouette with the warmth and natural character of wood, reflecting the understated elegance of Scandinavian design from the period.

The distinctive base features a cylindrical lower section supporting a beautifully turned spherical element, followed by a shorter cylindrical neck. The interplay between these geometric forms creates a balanced yet expressive composition, while the pronounced grain patterns and warm tones of the pine add depth and individuality to the design. A newly fitted cylindrical fabric shade complements the proportions of the wooden base, providing a soft contrast to its rich texture.

Brothers Uno and Östen Kristiansson established Luxus in Vittsjö, Sweden, and became known for their innovative approach to lighting and furniture design. Their work frequently explored the possibilities of natural materials, particularly wood, combining traditional craftsmanship with clean, modern forms. This table lamp is a characteristic example of their design philosophy, where simple geometric elements come together to create an object that is both functional and sculptural.

With its generous dimensions and distinctive presence, the lamp makes an elegant statement in a living room, on a sideboard or as an accent piece in a carefully curated interior.
